Late Penalty denies Watford Late Penalty denies Watford

Sheffield Wednesday earnt a share of the spoils at Vicarage Road after Francis Jeffers converted a late penalty to make the final score 2-2.Brian Laws side went ahead through Marcus Tudgay, however Raul Neto Jersey shot themselves in the foot, letting Watford back into the game through an own goal. Jobi McAnuff then scored, what had seemed to be the winner, before Jeffers scored in the 96th minute of action to earn his side a point. The Golden Boys were a much changed side from the one that had previously won their last five in six games, with the likes of Tommy Smith, Grzegorz Rasiak and club captain Jay Demerit all mi sing out through injury. The first 45 minutes were a scrappy affair. Wednesday started the half the stronger though and found the break through twenty minutes in.The goal was relatively simple and one Watford keeper Scott Loach will want to forget. It was Michael Grays corner which Loach allowed to slip though his hands, allowing Tudgay to poke the ball in to an empty net.Sheffield Wednesday continued the pre sure with Tommy Spurr going close, before Jeffers saw his shot blocked by an important interception.Watford were having little joy as Wednesday Anzejs Pasecniks Jersey continued to snuff out the pa sing game and get the ball forward quickly.Tamas Priskin though, in the hot form that hes been on lately, was alert and ready for any chance. It took just one momentary lapse in communication between Mark Beevers and keeper Lee Grant for the Hungarian to nip in and smash the ball into the back of the net to bring Watford level. The second half saw the introduction of Will Hoskins by the none too Jeff Green Jersey happy Brendan Rodgers, and a change of formation to a more conventional 4-4-2.Gray however, continued his form from the first-half and saw his shot whistle wide of Loachs post. The former Sunderland man then had to be replaced after sustaining a shoulder injury. Almost as soon as he left the pitch though, Watford had taken the lead. The brave Jon Harley had got forward and launched himself into a tackle. The ball ended up at the feet of Don Cowie. The Scotsman then delivered a cro s which Jobi McAnuff, who towered above everyone, headed home.It looked like Watford might increase their lead when Priskin robbed a Wednesday centre-half. His ball though for McAnuff though, was smothered by Grant. The game then carried on in the way it had Bradley Beal Jersey been for most of the match, with little chances and a lot of fouls. The final minutes of the game however, were like something out of a TV football drama.First of all the home crowd were stunned when, what seemed to be a blatant red card for Wednesday captain Richard Wood, was only awarded with a yellow. The resulting free-kick was then saved brilliantly by the impre sive Grant. Then, moments later, Grant somehow produced another fine save to deny Mike Williamson. The fans Moritz Wagner Jersey were then stunned again as the strange announcement of six minutes of injury time was made.Watford could not hold out for this period however, as Jon Harley tangled with Jermaine Johnson in the area which led to the linesman flagging for a penalty. The experienced Jeffers stepped up and made no mistake as he smashed the spot kick past Loach to wrap up a bizarre afternoon at Vicarage Road.

Super Bowl XLIX How the Patriots can beat the Seahawks
Inserido por: sharon_orn - 01-12-2025, 07:05 AM - Fórum: Vídeos - Respostas (2)

The media firestorm surrounding has diverted some attention from what we can actually expect to see on the field during , but many observers are still intrigued to find out how the will attack one of the stingiest defenses in NFL history. With the big game just days away, I've dug into the to come up with five things the Pats can do against the 'Hawks:1) Put a blanket around Marshawn Lynch.Quarterback receives plenty of attention for being one of the most dynamic playmakers in the NFL, but every defensive coordinator around the league knows the ' offense runs through . The five-time er sets the tone for Seattle with his rugged running style between the tackles. He overwhelms defenders in the hole with his violence and physicality -- and he also displays the quickne s and agility to slip in and out of traffic. He is one of the few big-bodied backs in the NFL capable of winning with power or fine se, making it nearly impo sible to slow him down without committing extra defenders to the box. Lynch is also a legitimate receiving weapon out of the backfield. He has strong hands and displays natural receiving skills, particularly when he runs swings or rail routes down the boundary. The routinely target Lynch on a variety of bootleg-throwback pa ses and "pick" routes designed to exploit undisciplined defenders on the second level. In the play depicted below, which took place during , the will run a "pick" to get Lynch free down the boundary. The originally align in a dubs formation, with Lynch positioned to the right. The slot receiver () motions acro s the formation, creating a 3x1 formation prior to the snap. The overload results in isolations on the back side, making the defense vulnerable to pick plays for the ball-carrier coming out of the backfield. At the snap, runs a shallow cro s directly into the path of linebacker , who is a signed to Lynch. The back then runs a rail route down the boundary behind Willson's cro sing Eric Paschall Jersey route. Wilson sees the defender knocked off his path and delivers a pinpoint tear-drop to Lynch for a huge first down (TO VIEW THE PLAY, SCROLL LEFT TO RIGHT ON THE IMAGE BELOW):Given Lynch's overall impact on the ' offense, it's clear New England must pull out all the stops to limit his effectivene s as a runner and receiver. This certainly will require the Pats to use an eight-man box on early downs, adding an extra run defender to the mix to shut down any cutback lanes. In addition, they must a sign a defender to shadow Lynch on pa sing routes, to eliminate the throwback pa ses that have produced a number of Seattle's most explosive offensive plays. After reviewing the of how the Pats have handled other prolific running backs, I believe coach Bill Belichick will play a lot of Cover 1 (man-free), with a linebacker a signed to shadow Lynch all over the field. can certainly fill that role, based on his size, athleticism and comfort in coverage. If the elect to play pre s-man coverage on the outside and drop an additional defender, they can keep a blanket around Lynch on running plays while also limiting his effectivene Nate Thurmond Jersey s in the pa sing game.2) Force Ru sell Wilson to play from the pocket.Defensive coordinators around the NFL will tell anyone within earshot that a mobile quarterback with polished pa sing skills is the most difficult sort of playmaker to defend. As an improvisational wizard with exceptional pa sing ability, Wilson certainly fits the bill. He can deliver the ball on time following three-, five- or seven-step drops -- yet, he's at his best when making throws on the edges of the defense. Whether he's rolling to his right or left on a pre-designed bootleg pa s or making a scramble to s following an improbable escape from the pocket, Wilson is able to generate his biggest pa s plays when on the move. The need to make a concerted effort to confine Wilson to the pocket and force him to throw into the teeth of the defense at the top of his drop. This is a strategy commonly used against athletic quarterbacks. Most mobile playmakers prefer to run around a bit to find an open lane or allow a receiver to work free from coverage. However, when they're contained and forced to sit inside the tackle-to-tackle box, and the primary and secondary reads are covered early in their routes, such quarterbacks can struggle to work through their entire progre sions. This results not just in errant pa ses or hurried throws, but it also produces a number of coverage sacks that knock the offense off schedule.Consider how the handled ultra-athletic quarterback during their . In the play depicted below, New England uses a four-man rush and Cover 1 "Rat" coverage to keep the MVP candidate confined to the pocket. The Pats execute a simple twist on the left, with serving as the contain player and looping around to the opposite A-gap. The contain players do an outstanding job rushing to the level of Rodgers' drop without running past the quarterback, leaving no escape lanes to the edges. Ninkovich, meanwhile, works hard to stay in his gap, eliminating any seams for Rodgers to flee up the gut. With receivers blanketed in man coverage and the succe sfully corralling Rodgers in the pocket, is able to net a 5-yard sack (TO VIEW THE PLAY, SCROLL LEFT TO RIGHT ON THE IMAGE BELOW):I would expect the Pats' defensive ends to take a similar approach to stopping Wilson. This "mush rush" approach requires outstanding discipline and awarene s, but it is the most effective way to disrupt Wilson's rhythm as a playmaker. If executed properly, the "mush rush" will limit Wilson's overall effectivene s and lead to some long-yardage situations that could produce a critical turnover.3) Pound the Seahawks with power rushes from run-heavy sets.Seattle thrives against one-dimensional, pa s-heavy offenses, as coach Pete Carroll has constructed a defense ideally suited for suffocating the pa sing game. From their athletic edge rushers with explosive speed and quickne s to their long, rangy cornerbacks adept at hara sing receivers with physical jams at the line of scrimmage, the are built Wilt Chamberlain Jersey to play against pa s-centric offenses. I looked at the teams that have given Seattle problems in the past and noticed that offenses with the personnel and patience to play "smash-mouth" football have enjoyed the most succe s against Carroll's troops. Now, I know the statistics suggest that the are dominant against the run (they had in the NFL this season), but the (who had 162 rushing yards ), (132 rushing yards ) and (135 rushing yards ) were all able to move the ball on the ground against them. The could follow a similar blueprint, with playing a feature role as a workhorse. The 6-foot, 250-pound veteran is an old-school runner with the physicality and toughne s to grind out yards against this Seattle defense. Blount runs with an aggre sive demeanor, daring defenders to step into his path on downhill plays. His preference is to run between the tackles, but he can also chew up yards on the perimeter. He po se ses enough speed and quickne s to turn the corner, yet he's nimble enough to make hard cuts on the edges, to take advantage of overaggre sive defenders in pursuit. As a result, the can hammer opponents with downhill runs or perimeter plays with Blount in the game.Against the , I would expect the to feature Blount as the workhorse in a variety of run-heavy formations. This not only puts the ball in the hands of their most physical runner, but it forces Seattle to defend downhill plays between the tackles. The downhill approach negates some of the speed and athletic advantages the enjoy at the point of attack and forces them to play "big-boy" football within the box. Given the cumulative effect of battling big bodies at the line, the power running game could allow the to control tempo, create big-play opportunities (see: the play-action pa s) and wear down defenders.4) Feature a quick-rhythm pa sing game with a variety of formations. The take a systematic approach to attacking defenses. Offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels will craft a game plan specifically to exploit the weakne ses of the coverage while also targeting a vulnerable defender on the perimeter. Facing a Seattle unit that features single-high safety coverage and bump-and-run tactics on the perimeter, the crafty play-caller will need to come up with a plan to help his receivers escape the clutches of the "Legion of Boom" at the line. The utilization of empty formations and various stacked or bunched alignments can help McDaniels make life easier for his pa s catchers in . By aligning two or more receivers within 3 yards of each other, McDaniels can force one of the ' defenders to back away from the line of scrimmage, to avoid the po sibility of being picked. McDaniels can also use motion to enhance those pick po sibilities and create more space for his pa s catchers to work away from coverage. In the ' over the , I noticed New England used a stack formation to create a big-play opportunity in the pa sing game, as is depicted below. Tight end is aligned at WR3 as part of a Trips stack formation. Gronkowski motions acro s the field to form a Dubs stack formation at the snap. The are running a corner-flat combination, with receiver and Gronkowski on the left. The are playing man coverage, with linebacker shadowing the tight end. With LaFell working up the field on a vertical route, the are able to pick off Gronkowski's defender and get their most explosive player an easy touch on the perimeter. Gronkowski proceeds to break multiple tackles and rumble into the end zone (TO VIEW THE PLAY, SCROLL LEFT TO RIGHT ON THE IMAGE BELOW):In the play depicted below, which took place during the ' game against the , New England uses short motion by to create a stack formation on the right. The close proximity of the ' receivers Marquese Chriss Jersey creates a pick po sibility when the ' cornerback fails to back away from the line. At the snap, the run a flanker-drive concept, with Edelman running a shallow cro s underneath LaFell's corner route. Running back is instructed to run an angle route behind the cro ser as a checkdown for . The play works to perfection when LaFell inadvertently picks the cornerback, leaving Edelman open over the middle. Edelman snags the pa s for a 14-yard gain (TO VIEW THE PLAY, SCROLL LEFT TO RIGHT ON THE IMAGE BELOW):In the play depicted below, which comes from that same game, the are aligned in an empty formation, with Edelman positioned in the slot as the WR2 to the right. He is running an "under" route underneath the vertical seam route by the WR3 (). With the in man coverage, the seam route creates a pick for Edelman, allowing him to run away from his a signed defender on the quick cro sing route. Brady delivers the ball on time and on target for an easy 7-yard gain (TO VIEW THE PLAY, SCROLL LEFT TO RIGHT ON THE IMAGE BELOW):In the play depicted below, which took place during the Pats' home win over the , New England originally aligns in a dubs stack formation, with Edelman positioned at the front of the stack to the right. The close alignments of stack formations forces the ' defensive backs to back off, to avoid po sible picks or rubs at the line. motions acro s the formation to create a three-man bunch acro s the field from Edelman. The bunch formation is used to divert attention away from Edelman, who is facing one-on-one coverage at the top. This gives Brady an easy pitch-and-catch option on a square out against "off" coverage. The throw and catch are perfectly executed, resulting in a 10-yard gain by Edelman (TO VIEW THE PLAY, SCROLL LEFT TO RIGHT ON THE IMAGE BELOW):The ' aggre sive bump-and-run tactics will require McDaniels to use clever scheming to create easy acce s for his receivers at the line. Other opponents have attempted to use similar strategies with moderate succe s, but New England's experience and creativity with these alignments could be a game-changer on Sunday.5) Steal some points in the kicking game.Coaches always talk about the importance of winning Stephen Curry Jersey all three phases (offense, defense and special teams) in big games -- and few teams pay greater attention to the kicking game than the and . Both squads are willing to use gadgets and gimmicks to flip the field or register an easy score. New England, in particular, has shown a knack for pulling out deceptive tactics in the playoffs to create a spark with a momentum-changing play. Facing a Seattle squad that's been susceptible to fake punts and trick plays on special teams, Belichick should consider running a gadget play with a kicking unit early to seize control.I believe special teams coach Scott O'Brien could use a creative tactic on the punt team to maintain po se sion or generate a big play. New England has previously used a "hockey line shift" play to catch opponents off-guard on fourth down. The Pats will trot out their punt team in a conventional alignment, then rush their offensive unit back on to the field. The chaotic nature of the play creates a sense of panic among the receiving team; defenders wind up being out of position when the offense is set and ready to snap the ball.As you can see in the video just above, the sudden shift completely caught the ' punt-return unit off-guard , forcing Kansas City coach Andy Reid to use a timeout, so that he could tell his team how to properly adjust to the late switch. Although the lo s of a timeout on a gadget play doesn't appear to be a big deal on the surface, it could play a huge role in the crucial late moments of the , as it could prevent the from stopping the clock. In addition, the "hockey line shift" could also help the pick up a first down in a critical moment. The offense can run on to the field and quickly execute a short-yardage play before the defense can react and properly adjust to the formation. The nearly pulled this off against the , as you can see in the video to the right -- although a false-start penalty shut down the play before it could get started. Regardle s, the tactic is a clever one that could help the get a pivotal first down or generate a score against a defense that rarely surrenders points. The can also hope to generate an explosive return in the kicking game to flip the field. The have been vulnerable to big returns during the regular season, and the unit did allow a 29-yard return to in the NFC Championship Game. Given Edelman's reputation as one of the top punt returners in the NFL, this could be the advantage that pushes the over the top. Follow Bucky Brooks on Twitter .

Dean Blandino Touchdown catch doesnt have to end in end zone
Inserido por: sharon_orn - 01-12-2025, 06:59 AM - Fórum: Vídeos - Respostas (2)

By Bill Bradley, contributing editorA receiver does not have to complete the proce s of the catch in the end zone in order to score a touchdown, according to NFL vice president of officiating Dean Blandino.Speaking during his weekly officiating video for the media, Blandino used San Francisco wide receiver 's touchdown catch during last Sunday's victory over the as an example Darrell Baker Jr. Jersey ."If he's breaking the plane (of the end zone) while he' s gaining control and he's initially pushed back -- say out of bounds or Marcus Mariota Jersey back into the field of play where he maintains control of the football -- that's a touchdown," Blandino said. "It's similar to forward progre s on the field of play where the receiver catches the ball at the 30-yard line and he's pushed back to the 33. We're going to give him the ball at the 30."As long as the ball is breaking the plane of the goal line while he has control of it, and he Isaiah Prince Jersey 's forced back into the field of play -- or in this instance back out of bounds outside the end zone -- it would be a touchdown."Blandino also talked about the 10-second runoff rule within the final minute of a half, looking at last Sunday's - game. He said a replay reversal of a touchdown or first down will result in a 10-second runoff, pointing to a touchdown that was called back late in the first half."The situation is that the ruling on the field is a touchdown and we're going to reverse it to down-by-contact/short of the goal line," he said. "The theory behind this rule (is) ... if the ruling the field was correct initially, and we had the runner down, the clock would continue to run."In order to save time, Minnesota would either Bruce Matthews Jersey have to take a timeout or hurry up to the Jurrell Casey Jersey line. The theory behind a 10-second runoff is that it would take 10 seconds for the offense to either hurry up or get a snap or spike or play."He said if there wasn't a 10-second runoff on such a review, it would be giving the offense an advantage of the clock stopping. He said the runoff only happens after asking the defense if it wants the runoff and then allowing the offense the option of the runoff or taking a timeout.

Rams vs. Lions odds props predictions Detroit looks to extend NFL-best ATS trend

Sunday night's NFC wild card matchup between the sixth-seeded Los Angeles Rams (10-7) and third-seeded Lions (12-5) in Detroit is filled with Elie Okobo Jersey intrigue, as a pair of quarterbacks who were traded for each other before the 2021 season tangle at Ford Field.Last Sunday night, when betting lines were first posted for this game, Detroit was listed as a 3-point favorite. Live Rams vs. Lions odds have Detroit favored by on the point spread (Rams ), while the best moneylines have Los Angeles and Detroit . The OVER/UNDER is .LA's Matthew Stafford, who starred for the Lions from 2009 to 2020 and never had a home playoff appearance, will vie in his former home against Detroit's Jared Goff, who was the first overall draft choice by LA in 2016, before heading east in a jarring swap in which the Lions acquired two first-round draft choices, too. This also is the only wild card game in which both quarterbacks have championship game experience as a starter -- Stafford for the Super Bowl-winning Rams in the 2021 season and Goff for the Super Bowl-losing Rams three years earlier.Against the spread this year, Detroit finished the season with a 12-5 record in coach Dan Campbell's third year in charge. In his tenure, the Lions' ATS mark is a league-best 35-16. The Rams went 10-6-1, capping the season with a 6-1 run. With regard to OVER/UNDER results, 11 of Detroit's 17 games have gone OVER. LA participated in nine OVERS. During the regular season, the UNDER has come through 55.5% of the time.Rams vs. Lions odds: Point spread, moneyline, total for NFC wild card matchupHere's the latestfor Rams vs. Lions:Over the past six seasons, NFC teams seeded third not only have gone 0-6 against the spread vs. No. 6 seeds but also lost all six of those home games as a favorite. Included was Seattle's 30-20 lo s to LA as a 6-point choice in 2017 and the Rams' 26-13 defeat vs. Atlanta in 2020 as a 6-point pick. The last time a No. 3 seed in the conference prevailed was seven years ago when Seattle was a 26-6 winner over Detroit as an 8.5-point favorite. That was Stafford's third Chris Paul Jersey and final postseason appearance with the Lions. If the Lions do end that stretch of futility by No. 3 seeds, it also will end their NFL record streak of nine straight playoff defeats dating to the 1991 season. This also will be the second meeting between Stafford and Goff since the trade. In 2021, the Abdel Nader Jersey Rams were 28-19 winners in LA as a 16.5-point favorite.Rams vs. Lions injury reportHere is the current injury report for the Rams vs. LionsBig Grinetroit has to be most concerned about the knee injury suffered last week by star rookie tight end Sam LaPorta. He leads the league's TEs with 10 TD receptions.Tight end also is an i sue for LA as Tyler Higbee is dealing with a foot injury.Rams betting news and trendsWhen it comes to battles with playoff teams this year, LA has the worst record in the NFC bracket. The Rams were 2-6, with one of the victories coming in the season finale against San Francisco when both teams rested much of their top talent. It was much the same for LA in its 2021 Super season, when it was 2-5 in the regular season against teams that made the playoffs but then went on a 4-0 run to the title.Triggering LA's late-season charge this season after starting 3-6 was the return of RB Kyren Williams, who mi sed three games at midseason (ankle) in which the Rams went 1-3 (0-4 ATS). Since returning, he's averaged 114.6 yards a game and 5.3 yards a carry. The rest of the team has a Cameron Payne Jersey 3.6 norm. Also, WR Puka Nacua set rookie records with the most catches (105) and receiving yards (1,486).Lions betting newsDetroit's defense deserves a chunk of credit for helping the team to its first division title in 30 years. In 2022, Detroit yielded a league-worst 392.4 yards per game but this season improved by 56.3 yards a game and finished 19th overall -- just ahead of the 20th-ranked Rams.On the ground, unlike the Rams, the Lions have a 1-2 running back punch of bulldozing David Montgomery, the team's rushing leader, and mega-fast rookie Jahmyr Gibbs, who's second in the league with 10 runs of 20-plus yards.Rams vs. Lions propsLet's look at some prop bets for the Rams vs. Lions atnationwide.Anytime TD Scorer ()Lions RB Jahmyr Gibbs: -145Lions RB David Montgomery: -135Rams RB Kyren Williams: -180Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown: +110Rams WR Puka Nacua: +110Rams WR Cooper Kupp: +120Rams defense/special teams:+ 475Lions defense/special teams: +500Alternate Point Spreads ()Lions +14.5: -2500Rams -14.5: +900Lions +7.5: -720Rams -7.5: +450Lions -7.5: +190Rams +7.5: -250Lions -14.5: +400Rams +14.5: -670Rams vs. Lions predictionsNot only does Detroit have home field for this matchup, but it's playing a team making its third trip east acro s three time zones in the past six weeks. On the Rams' last such trip two weeks ago, they barely topped the woebegone NY Giants 26-25 as a 6-point choice. It was the only time in LA's final seven games it didn't beat the spread. With Lions fans' throats well-rested after years and years of losing seasons, they'll surely make life miserable for Stafford trying to call signals. As an example of how disruptive they can be, back in 2011, a noisy throng was largely responsible for Chicago being flagged nine times for false starts.Prediction:Lions and UNDER How to Watch Rams vs. LionsDate:Sunday, Jan. 14Kickoff:8 p.m. ETLocation:Ford Field -- Charles Barkley Jersey Detroit, MIWhere to Watch:NBCIf you purchase a product or register for an account through one of the links on our site, we may receive compensation.   Premier League title race Manchester City fancied to topple Liverpool

With just six points separating the top three sides in the Premier League this seasons title race could be one of the most exciting in years.Liverpool currently lead the way by four points from reigning champions Manchester City, with Tottenham Hotspur a further two points adrift in third place. Read on we a se s their respective title chances.Liverpool eager to avoid wobbleLiverpool followed up Jeff Green Jersey their defeat by Manchester City by getting knocked out of the FA Cup and they will be eager to ensure those results dont turn into a full scale wobble. The Reds have a fairly favourable fixture list over the next few weeks, with games against Brighton & Hove Albion (A), Crystal Palace (H) and Leicester City (H) all looking winnable.Jurgen Klopps side will be undoubtedly be confident of still leading the way by the time the are announced at the end of the month, but it would not be Chris Paul Jersey a surprise to see them slip up.Liverpool choked in 2013/14 and with City likely to be relentle s during the run-in the pre sure could prove too much once again.City a good bet to retain titleManchester City cruised to the title last season Calvin Murphy Jersey , but they seem sure to be pushed closer this time around. However, their performance during their showed that they will not give up their crown without an almighty fight.Kevin De Bruynes return to fitne s is a major John Wall Jersey plus point for City, with his enforced absence meaning he wont be fatigued during the second part of the season. There is little to choose between City and Liverpools best starting XIs, but Pep Guardiolas side have greater strength in depth and that may prove crucial over the coming months.Spurs not there yetSpurs have done well to keep themselves in the mix, but until they rid themselves of their tendency to throw in a poor performance they can forget about winning the title.Their recent 3-1 defeat at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers was a perfect Danuel House Jersey example of this, highlighting that they still have some frailties.Their record against the other members of the Big Six also remains an area of concern for manager Mauricio Pochettino.Spurs have been beaten by City, Liverpool and Arsenal this season and until they start winning the big games on a consistent basis they will struggle to they crave.

The Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes look unbeatable again

Happy Tuesday, old sport! (Yep, you gue sed it... I just watched "The Great Gatsby" on TV and now I'm going around calling everyone "old sport" for the next little while.) Speaking of old sports, it's opening day for the World Series and Champions League, and that means we've got plenty to talk about this morning. We also had two NFL games last night so, yeah, you could say we've got ourselves a loaded itinerary this morning. Not only am I prepared to catch you up on all you need to know in sports, I'm also prepared to give you some timely free life advice to start your day: Always remember to double-check whether your webcam is on/off while "participating" in work meetings over Zoom. Thank me later! What you need to know 1. look electric, are a me s on Monday night I've said it before and I'll say it again... I could really get used to this NFL double feature on Mondays thing. It's nice to not have to wait so Chevan Cordeiro Jersey long for a sweet reward after surviving a Monday. We were treated to two games again last night as the Chiefs and got the party started with the early game in rainy Buffalo. Both teams were looking to wash the taste of a poor performance out of their mouth -- the Chiefs lost to the in Week 5 while the Bills dropped a dud against the -- but only one could redeem their coupon for a bounce-back performance. That redemption was cashed in by the Chiefs, who ran over Buffalo in a 26-17 win., courtesy of Cody Benjamin and Tyler Sullivan:Why the Chiefs won: Kansas City's playmakers were awesome. (21/26, 225 yards 2 TDs) was nearly perfect. (2 TDs) came up big. Clyde Edwards-Hellaire (161 yards rushing) was electric. The game was more lopsided than the scoreboard showed and KC's effectivene s on offense was a big reason whyWhy the Bills lost: Buffalo's run game couldn't really get anything going and that put more pre sure on to do it all through the air. Allen put forth a decent effort (14/27, 122 yards, 2 TDs, 1 INT) but he had some i sues with consistency again. On the other side of the ball, the Bills defense just got chewed up -- especially on the groundMahomes earned himself . He became the fastest player in modern NFL history to throw 90 career Pj Walker Jersey touchdown pa ses; Dan Marino did it in 40 games but Mahomes reached that mark on Monday in his 37th game. The second game of the night saw the Cowboys get throttled by the Cardinals, 38-10. Out of respect for Dallas fans, I'll try to keep this one brief.Ezekiel Elliot fumbled twicewas unimpre sive and threw two interceptions -- one being a back-breaking interception to start the second half. Arizona scored three touchdowns off those turnoversstruggled through the air a bit but had three total TDs ran for 164 yards and two TDsThis Cowboys season remains very much a me s but, on the bright side, they still sit in first place in an absolutely laughable NFC East. Yep, 2-4 and cruising toward the postseason! Feel, the excitement, Dallas! 2. Our expert World Series picks OK, now it's time for World Series talk. We're going to get our first look at Dodgers-Rays tonight with Game 1 going down in Arlington, TX and, if the championship series were any indication, this should be a fun ride. It's hard to beat the methodical, mounting intensity of World Series baseball. It's also hard to beatTyler Glasnow vs. Clayton Kershawas the opening pitching matchup. Before we get this thing underway, let's check in with our baseball crew and see . Of our six baseball experts, five picked the Dodgers to win it all -- with Mike Axisa being the only one to side with the Rays. Here's a sample from both sides of the aisle:R.J. Anderson: "The Dodgers were the best team in baseball during the regular season, to the extent that their run differential was more than twice as large as the Rays'. That doesn't nece sarily mean a whole lot at this stage, but I think they're the deeper club and the club with more top-end talent."Mike Axisa: "I'll pick the Dodgers to stop losing the World Series when they stop losing the World Series. In all seriousne s, the middle of their pitching staff worries me, and the Rays will be able to give them a taste of their own medicine with platoons and pinch-hitters and whatnot."Katherine Acquavella says she feels like this has to be the Dodgers' year after they managed to climb out of a 3-1 hole against the Braves, and she's right. It's not quite on the level of the 2004 Red Sox but it does sort of feel like the Dodgers may have been able to shed some of that bad postseason juju this October. Everyone except Matt Snyder think this series will go six or seven games. He says Dodgers in five because the Rays' offense just isn't dangerous enough. (Randy Arozarena says CHALLENGE ACCEPTED.)I would imagine this isn't exactly the World Series matchup MLB was hoping for (the Yankees or Astros probably would have been the preferred Dodgers opponent from a marketing standpoint) but there's still intrigue here. It's somewhat of a David vs. Goliath matchup -- at least from a payroll perspective-- but while the Easton Gibbs Jersey Dodgers basically print money, they didn't exactly buy a championship team in free agency. Los Angeles primarily , while the Rays put theirs together .Regardle s of how we got here, there's a great opportunity for the league to sell its product over the next 4-7 games. We don't have many steady weekday sports viewing options at this point so it's kind of Byron Murphy Ii Jersey World Series or bust right now. Baseball, I know we make fun of you and criticize you a lot, but now's your time to shine. Don't let us down. 3. Champions League storylines to follow Getty Images It's not just the World Series kicking off today... Champions League Matchday 1 is upon us as well. There are eight matches kicking off the group stage today, with another eight coming tomorrow. If you're feeling like it was just yesterday that Champions League wrapped up with Bayern Munich dominating all the way to the title, join the club. The COVID-adjusted schedule means it's a quick reset for the European clubs and we begin anew starting today. There are , so here are a few provided by our Roger Gonzalez:Can Real Madrid and Barcelona bounce back?: Both Real Madrid and Barca suffered embarra sing shutout lo ses in La Liga over the weekend and that casts a bit of a shadow over them as they begin play in Champions League. Gonzalez says they both should win today but, uh, they were supposed to win on Saturday, tooCOVID-19 strikes Juventus: Cristiano Ronaldo won't be on the pitch for Juventus today after he recently tested positive for coronavirus. I probably don't need to tell you that's a pretty significant lo s that Juventus will have to overcome in the group stage. The team will also be without American midfielder Weston McKennie, who also tested positive for COVID-19, and so we'll have to keep an eye on how they look without a couple big piecesMatchup of the day: PSG vs. Manchester United in ParisOh!   Bill Lazor denies Fins players unhappy with offense
Inserido por: sharon_orn - 01-12-2025, 06:43 AM - Fórum: Vídeos - Respostas (2)

offensive coordinator Bill Lazor denied that players have a problem with him Tyus Jones Jersey or his offense. prior to last week's pivotal matchup that several offensive players believe Lazor's on the locker room and were frustrated by the offense's inconsistency. Lazor told reporters Monday he didn't read the report, but believes he acts appropriately toward his players and values their input. "I think it's about what a normal NFL offensive team would be," he said, . "So I've had players tell me how much they appreciate the standard of expectations we have and I've had some players in a very profe sional way over time come up and maybe say, 'Hey, I C.J. Miles Jersey think this other approach might help us at times.'" Darlington's piece within the ' locker room, but fairly added that patience was nece sary as Lazor moved on in his first year as Miami's coordinator. One big question from Darlington was how much freedom quarterback is given to read defenses and change plays at the line of scrimmage. Lazor addre sed that concern, stating that audibles and changes are built into the play-calling and praised his young quarterback for making appropriate reads. John Konchar Jersey "Ryan (Tannehill) has more options than a lot of quarterbacks that we've coached," Lazor said. "Now, we do certain things differently. Some of them are what you would call verbal audibles, some of them are right at the snap, some of them are built in options Mike Conley Jersey . It's how we choose to play football. Ryan has the ability to handle those things and in my opinion does them very well. I think that's one of his strengths. He uses all of the different options, whether they be audibles or built in options to get the ball distributed around the field. That's probably when we've played our best offensively, is when he's used all of those things." Wins quiet a lot of frustration, Xavier Tillman Jersey as last week proved. However, if Miami spirals in their effort to earn a playoff bid these i sues could return full-throated. The latest Around The NFL Podcast from an action-packed Week 11.   2015 NFL Draft Four storylines that proved to be smokescreens
Inserido por: sharon_orn - 01-12-2025, 06:40 AM - Fórum: Vídeos - Respostas (2)

As the dust begins to settle following the 2015 , the pre-draft smokescreens that helped keep the draft plans of NFL clubs under wraps are beginning to di sipate. Around the NFL examined two days before the draft. Here's a quick look at what resulted from those four, plus four more examples of NFL club reps who were shooting straight with a pre-draft narrative.Smokescreens1. Redskins open to drafting a QBWhen Washington picked up a fifth-year option on quarterback , general Jermaine Eluemunor Jersey manager Scott McCloughan indicated the move on the team's draft plans.Result: The club had 10 draft picks and didn't choose a quarterback. It's hard to imagine that happening if the club hadn't made its commitment to Griffin.2. Chargers open to Rivers tradeOne of the most intriguing subplots in the days before the draft was the notion of the trading quarterback , presumably to move up in the draft and pick Oregon quarterback . ATN's Marc Se sler even came directly from the club.Result: A Rivers trade didn't happen, wouldn't have happened, couldn't have happened. And with a rookie presence like now in the backfield, the San Diego offense is far better for standing pat.3. Eagles look to move BradfordAfter Philly Mark Bavaro Jersey acquired quarterback in a trade with the in the offseason, there was talk that coach Chip Kelly was prepared to deal Bradford before he ever had a chance to play a down. Kelly himself might have triggered speculation by saying he had been for Bradford just after acquiring him.Result: Kelly has proved willing to make unorthodox moves to alter the look of the Phil McConkey Jersey , but this would have been beyond unorthodox, even for a coach who was clearly smitten with Mariota. A Bradford deal, of course, never materialized.4. Titans ready to tap MettenbergerFew balloons were overinflated and floated higher before the draft than the promise showed as a rookie quarterback for the last season. As the narrative went, the were perhaps content to let a sixth-round pick steer the offense in a crucial year for coach Ken Whisenhunt.Result: The club was so high on Mettenberger that it spent the No. 2 pick of the draft on Mariota, despite the fact that he might struggle as a rookie in adapting to a pro-style offense. Remember while Mettenberger totes Mariota's water this fall that he "has all the tools."Shooting straight1. Cowboys content at RB owner Jerry Jones had said that picking a running back was for the club. He obviously wasn't kidding, because eight Dallas draft picks inexplicably came and went without the club acquiring one to compete with free-agent signee Chris Hubbard Jersey , for whom expectations are measured at best.2. Steelers reloading secondary team president Art Rooney II indicated before the draft that Pittsburgh would be on defensive backs to bolster an ailing secondary -- did they ever. Pittsburgh invested on cornerbacks and and tacked on ball-hawking safety , who made an NCAA record-tying 14 interceptions last year, with its final choice.3. Whaley stands pat general manager Doug Whaley danced around the quarterback question throughout the pre-draft proce s, saying the team at the position. Few believed him, not with 's status as a starter looking as slippery as ever. In the end, the Buffalo QB trio of Manuel, , and came out of the draft .4. Mariota to playAt Leo Durocher Jersey the NFL owners meetings in Phoenix, coach Ken Whisenhunt said that if the club drafted Mariota with the No. 2 overall pick, it for a year as a developmental pick. The pick, Whisenhunt implied, is just too high to cede a rookie impact. Well, after taking Mariota with that very pick, Whisenhunt post-draft.*Follow Chase Goodbread on Twitter *.

Breshad Perriman visits Detroit Lions his fathers former team
Inserido por: sharon_orn - 01-12-2025, 06:36 AM - Fórum: Vídeos - Respostas (2)

The brought a familiar name to their facility for a visit this week -- UCF receiver , son of former receiver Brett Perriman -- but that doesn't mean Detroit was nece sarily familiar to him."I don't remember coming to any of his games or coming to Detroit at all, so it's kind of cool to come back and experience how it was when he was here," Isaac Seumalo Jersey .When fans remember the elder Perriman best, they remember 1995. That was a of 108 catches, 1,488 yards and nine touchdowns, but it was also a year Breshad would have been too young to recall; he was just two years old. The question NFL scouts have is whether Breshad Perriman can consistently have a year like that in the NFL Mike Quick Jersey , and nothing about his pro-day performance last week suggests he couldn't. Perriman , a time that amazed scouts on hand who surely expected le s from a receiver of his size (6-2, 212 pounds).Perriman has worked his way into being a potential first-round pick, and currently ranks No. 30 -- just within first-round range -- Tanner Mckee Jersey on NFL Media analyst Daniel Jeremiah's . Perriman's athleticism aside, his game still needs some polish. So what does he need to work on most?"Mainly route running and hands," Perriman . "Not so much as far as the hands part, but as the concentration. I had a lot of concentration drops last year, probably a little bit too many. And I want to improve on my route running and get used to doing different routes, slots routes, and things like that. I feel like it's been working tremendously Laekin Vakalahi Jersey for me."Perriman said it would "mean the world" to him to be drafted by the club that employed his father for six of his 11 NFL Jon Dorenbos Jersey seasons."He's helped me a lot," Breshad Perriman said. "He tells me the ins and outs about the whole game and the busine s part of it, but at the same time he gives me the leeway and freedom to experience things by myself."The at the receiver position, although their are on the line of scrimmage, so a Perriman- sequel seems unlikely.*Follow Chase Goodbread on Twitter *.
